What to look in a day trading app
There are several things you need to watch out for when looking at a day trading app. First, look at the accuracy of the data. You need one that has the most accurate and precise data.
Second, look at its ease of use. You don’t need an app that is extremely complicated. Finally, consider why you need the app in the first place.
The best mobile apps for day trading
#1 – Bloomberg
Bloomberg has invested in Android, IOS, and Windows mobile apps (and recently in Google Home). These applications offer the user the opportunity to get breaking news, listen to the Bloomberg Radio, watch the Bloomberg TV, get commentary, and also do technical analysis.
Many of our traders use the Bloomberg app for android phone as well as the iPad version. The benefit of being looped to the Bloomberg ecosystem is that they have a moat in the financial world!
The company has more than 19,000 employees. On a daily basis, more than 5000 stories are posted in the Bloomberg ecosystem which includes: The Bloomberg Terminal, apps, website, and other publications.
#2 – Stock Master
Stock Master is an IOS application that is not available in the android versions. The application has more tools than any other application we have come across.
Some of the features the application has are: backtesting (which allows a trader to backtest his strategies), a comprehensive discussion feed, portfolio reports, and a professional stock screener.
The website also has all the tradable ‘assets’ in place.
#3 – Seeking Alpha
In our previous article, we mentioned that Seeking Alpha was an important website for traders and investors. Still, we recommend that any person involved in the financial market to try their mobile apps (The company has developed IOS and Android applications).
While the website is more geared towards the long term investors, we believe that any person interested in finance will have a better opportunity to learn more about investments.
#4 – Metatrader
Metatrader is a platform used by many Forex brokers. The developers license the application to the brokers who then provide it to the traders.
The Metatrader (MT4 and MT5) platforms has thousands of currencies, equities, indices, and commodities. Its terminal contains a number of things such as the key technical indicators, a breaking news panel, and a place to create accounts.
If you are just starting out as a trader, we recommend that you use the MT4 demo account to practice.
#5 – Stocktwits
We all appreciate that Twitter is an incredible platform. However, Twitter is a very broad platform. It is against this backdrop that the developers of Stocktwits decided to create a vertical platform for traders and investors.
The result has been a tool that allows traders from all walks of life share opinions about companies and other assets. The company has Android and IOS applications which you can easily download and start using.
Moreover, you can follow only companies and assets that are relevant to you.
#6 – Yahoo! Finance
An article that appeared in Bloomberg BusinessWeek mentioned that Yahoo’s core assets are worth only $-8 billion (that’s negative 8 billion dollars). That’s a terrible valuation for a company that once used to be the most valuable in Silicon Valley.
Yahoo Finance is a portal that many investors and traders use. It contains all the relevant news and data from the financial world. In addition, it gives people an opportunity to download historical data and export them to Excel for analysis.
The only disadvantage we find with Yahoo Finance app is that it is not available in many countries. For android users, you can download an APK version and install it directly.
#7 – NetDania
NetDania is an android and IOS mobile application that contains a number of tools that can help traders make better decisions. Some of Us use netdania mostly because of its comprehensive economic and earnings calendar.
Also, We like the interface of the application which offers an intuitive panel to receive news. One can also create a watchlist and receive customized news.
#8 – Investing.com
We like investing.com (both the website and the mobile app). The mobile app contains most of the features which are still available in the web platform. The only thing you may not like about the company is that it does not have an iPad version.
For analysis, We prefer using our iPad because of the real estate available to combine various items.
#9 – Stocks Live
Some of the best features offered:
- search and track your watchlist (stocks, ETFs, indexes)
- multiple currency support
- view Chart with several customization options
- news feed
- Heat map of the market
#10 – SoFi
The SoFi mobile trading app is a comprehensive and user-friendly platform designed to cater to your investment needs. It provides access to various financial services, including banking, lending, stock, ETF, and cryptocurrency trading – all at the touch of your smartphone screen.
To begin using SoFi’s investment features, create an account within the app and opt for Active or Automated Investing. With Active Investing, you have full control of your individual trades, while Automated Investing manages an investment portfolio based on your risk tolerance.
But is day trading riskier and how does SoFi handle it? It’s essential to acknowledge that day trading does have higher risks compared to long-term strategies. Nonetheless, the SoFi mobile app presents diverse options suited for both risk-averse investors and those willing to explore day trading opportunities.
In summary, the SoFi mobile trading app is a highly accessible solution for investors at any experience level. Its straightforward interface combined with its range of financial offerings makes it a popular choice among modern investors in search of a reliable and uncomplicated tool.
